Being in the field of education for a number of years we both hope and dream to someday find life after students and the classroom. Jokingly we had always talked about having our own business and how enjoyable it would be to find a quiet retirement hobby. Something to settle into and hopefully make a small profit. The problem being it had to be interesting, totally different from our present roles, have a varying routine and of course something fun. Many thoughts and ideas have come and gone over the past few years, then it happened. One day we were sitting over lunch and RoseAnn announced to me, Carol guess what, we are taking a class on soap making, won't that be cool. I looked at her, slowly smiled and added, that's great, but in the back of my mind I was thinking what is she getting me into. Well, the rest is history as the saying goes and here we are, Mountain Laurel Soap. Now your question at this point my be why buy and use our 100% handcrafted and authentic soap? This answer is simple, we at Mountain Laurel Soap believe that nature's own is still the best. All our soap is made from saponified oils and natural ingredients like spices, seeds, flowers and grains. Our soap is made of palm, olive, coconut oil, coco butter, shea butter, hemp seed oil, jojoba oil, goats milk, and essential oils. We use the 200 year old process of hand blending our ingredients, making small batches at a time which are then poured into wooden molds. Here it sets for several days being warm and setting up slowly, when the time is right we hand cut or wire cut each bar.
